Britt Sawyer is the Director of Instrumental Music at Severance Middle School. Over the past fifteen years she has taught 6-12 grade band, orchestra, percussion ensemble, jazz band, various chamber ensembles, music theory, and maybe even a little choir. Britt holds a Bachelor of Music Education with an instrumental emphasis from the University of Northern Colorado and Masters in Music Education from The American Band College of Central Washington University.
During her teaching career, Ms. Sawyer has had the opportunity to adjudicate and conduct several festivals and honor bands including the Eastern Colorado Honor Band and Colorado Combined League Middle School Band Festival. She has also presented at the University of Northern Colorado and Colorado Bandmasters Association Convention. In addition to teaching, Britt is an on-call percussionist for several brass quintets around Northern Colorado. In 2008 Ms. Sawyer became the Principal Percussionist of the Fort Collins Winds Symphony and was on the board of directors from 2007-2019. In her free time, Britt enjoys playing disc golf with her husband, Ian. |
